A castaway from a plane crash nearly ten years before, Delaney is taken by the sea again, and returned to civilization. For the past decade, her life was uncomplicated, as she and the other victims of the plane crash only had one concern: survive. Now that she was is back with family she barely knows, and caught between two cultures, both with societal rules that she cannot stand. She watches everyone else settle back into their own lives, while being constantly asked how it feels to be rescued. Delaney doesn't understand why this is what rescued is supposed to look like.
